Runchey Games is just me, Matt Runchey. This page says what this website and the Barista Boom web demo collect, and what I do with it. Short version: as little as I can, nothing is sold, and there are no ads.

Analytics

I use Umami, which I host myself, to count visits. It sets no cookies and doesn't identify you. It records which pages are viewed, the site that sent you, your country, and your browser and device type. In the demo it also records milestones, such as starting a new game, finishing a shift (with its medal and difficulty), and reaching the end. That tells me where players get stuck or stop.

Mailing lists

If you sign up for Barista Boom news or for new Dev Blog posts, I keep your email address, which list you joined, and when. The list is stored with Supabase and the emails are sent through Resend. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes you off all of the lists.

Feedback and bug reports

The feedback form keeps what you write, and your email only if you give it. A bug report sent from inside the demo also includes a snapshot of the game: where you were, your game's save, recent errors, a picture of the game's screen, and your browser and screen size. That's so I can find and fix the problem. Your email is optional there too.

Your game saves

The demo saves your progress in your own browser on play.runcheygames.com. It isn't sent anywhere unless you send a bug report.

Abuse protection

To stop spam, the forms count requests per visitor using a one-way hash of your IP address, never the address itself. Those counts are deleted after two days.

Videos

The trailers are YouTube embeds in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube may set its own cookies once you play one, under Google's privacy policy.

Removing your data

You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email. To have anything else deleted (a feedback answer, a bug report, your address), tell me through the feedback form or reply to any email I've sent you, and I'll remove it.
